Day 01 - Arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu (1,300m)
Meals included: Dinner

Our airport representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu upon your arrival. He/she will escort you to the respective hotel in a private vehicle. Your prior trip meeting will be scheduled on the very day at the hotel before dinner. However, our airport representative will give you a brief idea about the second day’s schedule on your way to the hotel. During this meeting we will introduce you to your leader/guide. Please do not hesitate to ask questions about your trek or anything that is related to your trip. To make you feel comfortable, we host a welcome dinner for you in a popular restaurant in the city where you can enjoy authentic Nepali meal along with cultural programs including ethnic dance and songs. Tonight will be spent at a hotel in Kathmandu. 
 

Day 02 - Pre-trip meeting and sightseeing around the Kathmandu valley
Total duration: 4-5 hours

After the breakfast, you will be visiting the different places in Kathmandu. There are many historic and cultural places that are of great significance in Kathmandu. You will get to see the major attractions of the city along with our professional guide and a private vehicle. The following are the major places that you will visit:

You will be visiting either Kathmandu Durbar Square or Patan Durbar Square, which has been listed in the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. You can enjoy the age-old cultural heritage of the city. Boudhanath and Swayambhunath a sacred pilgrimage of the Buddhist and Pashupatinath the very famous Hindu temple e are the attraction of today’s sightseeing program. After sightseeing, you will be meeting us at our office for a prior trek meeting. You can go shopping in the evening at Thamel which is famous for useful tourist’s products. We will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 03 - Fly to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu
Total duration: 1 hr flight.
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch /Dinner

Today after breakfast you will be transferred to the domestic terminal of TIA to catch the flight to Nepalgunj.It takes an hour to reach Nepalgunj from Kathmandu. We will stay at a hotel in Nepalgunj today.

Day 04 - Fly to Juphal (2,400m) and Trek to Dunai (2,150m)
Total duration: 35 minutes flight and 3 hrs of walk

We will fly to Juphal today. It takes 35 minutes to reach Juphal flying above the mesmerizing terrain. The flights get cancelled most of the time due to adverse weather. But in a clear day, the flight from Nepalgunj to Juphal is full of thrill and adventure. Upon reaching Juphal we will have to walk for almost 3 hours to Dunai along with the trekking crew and porters’. Dunai is relatively large village of this region. We will stay overnight at Dunai.

Day 05 - Trek to Ankhe (2,660m)
Total duration: 6 hrs
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch /Dinner

Today we will be trekking to Ankhe. So we will start to walk towards the west following the trails passing the new hospital to reach the confluence of Thuri Bheri and Suli Gad rivers. From here we will follow the undulated uphill trails along the Suli gad River. We will wall pass the marihuana field, terrace fields of millet along with potatoes, chilies, and sweet corn. We will continue our trek along the riverside until we reach Hanke, the entrance of Phoksundo National Park. From here we will reach Ankhe crossing Parela village and Rahagaon village. We will stay overnight at Ankhe.

Day 06 - Trek to Renje (3,104m)
Total duration: 7 hrs

The destination for today is set for Renje. The beginning of the trek today is going to be tough until we cross the river twice. From here we will take the narrow and steep trail along the cliff followed by a gradual descend and a steep ascend. On our way we will witness the beautiful panorama of forest and landscape. We will reach Renje after few hours. We will stay overnight at a tented camp along the side of Suli Gad River.

Day 07 - Trek to Phoksundo Lake (3,600m)
Total duration: 6-7 hrs

We will be trekking to Phoksundo Lake today. The trail is relatively easy in the beginning but it becomes tough as we reach Sumdo. The trail becomes literally inclined leaving the river behind. We will reach the ridge from where we can see the amazing view of the 300m waterfall, the highest one in Nepal. This is the place from where the breathtaking view of Phoksundo Lake can be seen. we will descend to the upper reaches of the Phoksundo Khola through the birch forest to reach Ringmo settlements. We can see chortens and Mani walls. This is a beautiful village facilitated with solar panels to improve the quality of life of the villagers. From here a short walk will take us to Phoksundo lake. We will stay overnight at tented camps here.

Day 08 - Trek to Phoksundo Khola (3,507m) 
Total duration: 6 hrs
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch /Dinner

We will head to Phoksundo Khola walking along the edge of the lake. The trails are tough and risky at many places. We will walk uphill to reach 4,040m. Upon reaching this point we will have to descend to the valley bottom to enter the floodplain of the Phoksundo Khola. We will stay overnight at tented camp alongside the river.

Day 09 - Trek to Phoksundo Bhanjyang (4,402m)
Total duration: 7 hrs
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch /Dinner

Today we will walk on the level path through a glacial valley towards the north. This path gets narrower offering the amazing view of the vertical cliffs and unique rock formation. From here we will reach the confluence of Phoksundo Khola and a small glacial stream. Upon crossing the wooden bridge over the river we will clamber over the rocks and boulders to reach down to the steep valley. From here a long climb up will take us to sheep meadow where the trail veers up a steep ravine. From here a steep climb to the top will take us Phoksundo Bhanjyang the point that leads to Kang la Pass. We will camp just before the pass for overnight stay.

Day 10 - Cross the Kang La pass (5,360m) and trek to Shey Gompa (4,126m)
Total duration: 7 hrs

Today we will walk on the trail that is not very distinct and very strenuous. After walking for three hours we will reach Kang La. All the hard trekking through the tough trail is worth it as this place offers the prepossessing view of the lower landscape. From this point we will descend on the steep trail to reach the valley floor which should not take more than 45 minutes walking on the long meandering trail. Finally, we will reach the Shey Gompa after crossing the wooden log bridge that leads to the compound of Shey gompa. We can explore the surrounding areas in the evening. We will stay overnight at the tented camp.

Day 11 - Rest and exploration day at Shey Gompa
Total duration: 5 hrs

Today we won’t be climbing any further; instead we will explore the Gompa and the surrounding areas. Shey Gompa is known as Crystal Mountain. The lama of Shey resides at a red hermitage known as Tsakang Gompa which is west of Shey. It is not really a monastery but a retreat. Tsakang has been a meditation centre to many famous lamas from Tibet. Shey Gompa belongs to the Chaiba community, followers of the Padmasambhava and Kagyu sects. This place is famous for ancient Buddhist culture and custom. Crystal Mountain is to the west of Shey Gompa with contorted cliffs adorned with quartz and rich varieties of marine fossils. Shey Gompa is situated above the confluence of Kangjunala and Yeju nala. Near the confluence there is a group of prayer mills turned by water wheels. We will stay overnight at Shey Gompa.

Day 12 - Cross the Saldang La pass (4,785m), and then trek to Namduna Gaon (4,400m) - 7 hrs

Our destination for today is set for Namduna. The trail for today is easy initially until we reach the grey canyon and then it begins to twist and turn over the eroded soil until we reach the flat top. We can have our lunch at this spot enjoying the amazing view of the lowland.  From here 20 minutes of steep climb will take us to Saldang La pass. This place offers a great view of Mustang at the distant and also offers the amazing view of the snow-capped peaks of Tibet. We will reach the yak and sheep’s grazing pasture after a long and tiring descend towards the north. We will come across the herders who reside in this area in the tents made of yak’s hair. From here we will reach Namduna where we can see the Namdung Monastery. This monastery is a red stoned structure built against the backdrop of a cliff on the north wall of the gorge. This village has a very scanty population. Only 6 houses made out of stones can be seen along with the terraced fields on the either sides. The economy of this region is based on agriculture, animal husbandry and trading. We will stay overnight at tented camps in this place.

Day 13 - Trek to Saldang (3,903m)
Total duration: 4 hrs

Today we will trek to Saldang. It is an uphill walk to reach the top. We can see the beautiful valley with neatly terraced crop fields. Our ascend continues before going down the steep slopes to the village of Saldang. Saldang is the biggest village of inner Dolpo with 80 households situated on a plateau that is high above the Nam Khong Nala. It belongs to the arid zone of Trans Himalayan Tibetan Plateau. This location is the trade route to Tibet. People of this region are dependent on agriculture and trade for their livelihood. We will stay overnight at Saldang Village.

Day 14 - Trek to Sibu (3,942m)
Total duration: 6 hrs

Today we will head towards Sibu leaving Saldang. We will descend passing the terraced fields, Stupas, Chortens and Mani walls towards the river bed. We will reach Namdo after few hours of walk. Namdo is a beautiful village that stretches more than 5 km on high slopes to the left of Nam Khong Khola. There is a beautiful Monastery. We will stay overnight near the small settlement of Sibu along the bank of the Nam Khong Khola in a tented camp.

Day 15 - Trek to foot of the Jeng La (4,369m) - 5 hrs
Total duration: 5 hrs
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch /Dinner

Today we will trek to Jeng La. The trail follows the river valley and comparatively easier in the beginning and after 2 hours of walk, the trail becomes very steep. We will reach the foot of the Jeng La after walking through pleasant trail for few more hours and stay overnight there.

Day 16 - Cross the Jeng La pass (4,845m), trek to Tokyu Gaon (4,240m)
Total duration: 6 hrs
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch /Dinner

It will take 2 hours to reach the Jeng la pass walking through the steep trail. Upon reaching the pass we can view the amazing Dhaulagiri massif. From here we will descend towards the Tarap valley and walking further from there we will reach Tarap Chu. It is a dream valley with vast plains in high mountains extending 20kms along the river Tarap Chu. It has ten villages with cultivated fields, many Gompas and Chortens. We will stay overnight at Tokyu Gaon.

Day 17 - Trek to Dho Tarap (4,090m)
Total duration: 4-5 hrs
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch /Dinner

We will be trekking to Dho Tarap. The trail is broad and easy. We will come across the villagers walking towards their fields and herders with the herd of animals. We can also witness Mani walls and chortens. Few of them are in a very poor condition and needs to get repaired. We will also see “The French School” just outside of the Dho Tarap. Dho Tarap is the village inhabited by the Magars and few Tibetans. We can spend the rest of the time exploring the Gompa of this village. We will stay overnight at Dho Tarap.

Day 18 - Trek to Serkam (3,630m)
Total duration: 6-7 hrs
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch /Dinner

We will walk downhill along the Tarap Khola. The trail enters the narrow gorge along the river.  We can see blue sheeps, yaks and sheeps along with the herders. The path now becomes more undulated as we leave the river. After walking for some time we will cross the suspension bridge. A further walk on the narrow trail will take us to Serkam for overnight stay.

Day 19 - Trek to Khani Gaon (2,550m) - 7 hrs
Total duration: 7 hrs
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch /Dinner

Today we will trek to Khani Gaon. We will first walk down the gorge of the Tarap River. The slopes are steep yet full of thrills. At some places, we will find manmade staircases to make the walk easier. After walking for few more hours we will reach our destination. It is a beautiful meadow. We will stay overnight at Khani Gaon.

Day 20 - Trek to Tarakot (2,281m) - 4 hrs
Total duration: 4 hrs
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch /Dinner

Our destination for today is set for Tarakot. We will leave the Khani Gaon crossing the suspension bridge. We will continue our walk along the riverside on the trail that is demanding at few places. Extra care should be taken while crossing the river on wet steeping stones. We will now reach Barbung Chu, which is broad and fertile. People grow millet, sweet corn, barley, buckwheat, chilies and marijuana for their livelihood. After few hours of walk, we will reach Tarakot for overnight stay.

Day 21 - Trek to Dunai (2,052m) - 5 hrs
Total duration: 5 hrs
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch /Dinner

Today we will trek to Dunai. The trail is mostly downhill and comparatively easier. We will be walking along the Bheri River. After few hours of walk, we will reach Dunai. We have now reached the place from where we began. We can spend the evening celebrating our successful completion of the trek among the other crew members. We will stay overnight at Dunai.

Day 22 - Trek to Juphal (2,404m) - 3 hrs
Total duration: 3 hrs
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch /Dinner

We will trek to Juphal. The initial walk is easier compared to the final steeper trail. After three hours of walk, we will reach Juphal. We will stay overnight at Juphal.

Day 23 - Fly to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj- Total 1 hr and 35 mins flight
Total duration: 1hr and 35 mins
Meals included: Breakfast

We will fly back to Nepalgunj catching the early morning flight. We will fly over the amazing Peaks like Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Upon reaching Nepalgunj, we will catch the flight to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj. We will reach Kathmandu In an hour. This night will be spent at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 24 - Leisure day and farewell dinner in Kathmandu
Meals included: Breakfast/Dinner

This day is also set aside as one spare day in case of the delay in flight. You can spend the day shopping or going for movies or simply roaming the beautiful and historic places in Kathmandu. Since today is your last day in Kathmandu, we host a farewell dinner where you can give your feedback regarding the services that we provided during the entire trip. We will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 25 - Final departure

This is the last day of your trip with us. You can extend your trip for one or two days to visit other interesting places in and out of Kathmandu which is completely optional. If not then one of our staff will escort you to the airport as per your scheduled departure. You can roam around the city and buy souvenirs’ and do shopping to take along with you if your flight is scheduled during late hours.

We have prepared the trip departure dates in small groups departure for group fun and enjoyment trekking. Our group size start from 2 peoples (Even for solo travelers, we organize single trip on supplement cost of US$- 200 additional) and maximum group size will be 8-10 travelers. But in general, our every date will have small groups of 4- 6 peoples, which is good group size for safe and flexible & comfortable trekking.
